About the Event
Blind Date with a Book is a charity event in London that promotes recycled reading. Choose your favourite books and develop your creativity with a book writing workshop.
The event is based on the "Blind date with a book" concept: a book that is wrapped in paper, tagged with clues and small descriptions of the book inside. The concept aims to promote books that did not receive the right publicity and to stop readers from "judging a book by its cover". Because we want to promote recycled reading, all our books are second-hand.
At Blind Date with a Book you will have the chance to learn how to write a book, attending a workshop with Anna Hughes that will develop your creativity skills and imagination.
Our vision is to create social impact by triggering creativity among participants. We aim to increase awareness over recycled reading, offer a moment of disconnection from the day-to-day busy lifestyle and trigger creativity by offering a book-writing workshop.
Our Team
We are a team of five Events Management students at University of Westminster. Blind Date with a Book is our final year project and the first live event we are organising as Events Management students.
